Twenty-year-old Natalie Lenhart was bummed when she had to fork over her iPod as payment for a New York City taxi ride. The credit card reader in the cab rejected her payment, so nearby police told the California native to hand over her music player to the cab driver as payment. The story made its way to news outlets nationwide, with Natalie mentioning that she was a big fan of James Taylor.
The Grammy Award-winning songwriter must have picked up the paper that day, because he's now sending Natalie an iPod loaded with his music. Says Taylor, "I wanted to reach out a little bit. It seems like I probably reacted to the story like everyone else -- it was surprising."
