We love stories of people returning $40,000 rings, digital cameras and bundles of cash. When we read this story about a class ring that went missing for 36 years, we knew it was a Nice One!
Robert Rochester lost his class ring on a summer day 1972 while job hunting in Virginia. Robert, a University of Richmond Class of '71 graduate just out of the Navy, had no luck finding a job that day. When he returned to his car, he threw his stack of résumés to the ground, along with his class ring -- which slid off and bounced into the weeds.
Fast-forward to 36 years later, when Rob Lippman found the class ring by tripping over it while jogging. With the help of the University of Richmond alumni office, Rob was able to return the ring to Robert.
Said Robert, when learning his ring was found, "It brought back so many good thoughts of school and of a time in my life I hadn't thought about for years."
